U-Pick Tulip Field Frequently Asked Questions

When will the tulip fields open to the public?

Our 2026 season starts April 25th. We will be open daily until May 18th.

Watch our Instagram and Facebook pages for additional information.

When is the best time to visit the field?

There is no right or wrong time to visit the tulip field, however, our favourite time of day is GOLDEN HOUR! We are open late on Friday evening.

Our first weekend (April 25 & 26) will have our earliest tulips in bloom and our mid season tulips at their perfect stage for picking - this is the best time if you prefer fresh tulips that will last longer at home.

Our second weekend - TULIP FEST (May 2 & 3) our early and mid season tulips will be in full bloom! Late tulips will be ready to pick as well.

By our last weekend (May 9 & 10) our mid and late season blooming tulips will be in full bloom, with our early varieties passed their picking prime but still colourful for beautiful photographs.

ONE LAST WEEKEND - Late bloom tickets are available on-sale for $10.00 + HST.

Victoria Day (May 18th) proceeds will be donated to Growing Roots Nature School.

How much are tickets?

Weekday tickets - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - are $15.00 + HST

Weekend tickets - Saturday & Sunday - are $20.00 + HST

Late Bloom Tickets - $10.00 + HST

Children under the age of 5 are free and do not require a ticket.

Do I need to purchase a ticket beforehand, or can I purchase at the time I arrive?

Weekday tickets can be purchased at our field entrance. We highly suggest pre-purchasing weekend tickets online - weekends are our busiest days and we have limited space.

What is included with each ticket?

Each entrance ticket to our tulip field comes with 10 tulips which you will pick yourself. When you are ready, you bring your 10 tulips to our wrapping station where we will trim and wrap your tulips in a beautiful bouquet for you to take home.

New this year - a second field of tulips, a walking trail through our forest, and a cafe (limited menu on weekdays) in our greenhouse.

Can I pick more than 10 tulips?

Extra tulips can be purchased for $1 per stem.

How do I pick the tulips?

With your hands! You do not need to bring your own clippers. To pick a tulip, just grab at the base close to the dirt, and pull straight up to ensure you get a long stem.

Can we pull up the bulb along with the flower?

Tulip Bulbs are not included with your ticket. If you accidentally pull the bulb, staff will trim it off when we wrap your bouquet.

Do you provide water for my picked tulips?

No, we do not provide guests with water for their tulips. If this is a concern for you or you are travelling long distances, we recommend you bring your own water.

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets are not refundable but can be rescheduled. Preferred dates for rescheduling are not guaranteed for weekends. Email melanie@berkelbloem.ca if you would like to reschedule your visit.

Are there group rates available?

Please email melanie@berkelbloem.ca for group rate inquiries.

Can I go on a sold-out day?

We often sell-out of tickets on weekends. However, we can accommodate some walk-ins depending on how busy we are at your time of arrival. For this reason, we strongly encourage pre-purchasing your tickets on our website for weekend visits.

Is there food available?

Yes! We will have some local food and drink vendors on weekends.
Feel free to bring your own food and drinks as well. We have both indoor and outdoor seating.

What is your weather policy?

The tulip field is open rain or shine. Please keep in mind that tickets are not refundable, so keep the weather forecast in mind and plan accordingly.
Our farm has very sandy soil - do not worry about getting stuck in the mud on a rainy day.
We have a garden centre and cafe, as well as tents to take shelter in.

What should I wear?

Our tulip field is located on our farm. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots. Since spring weather is unpredictable, some days you may want a hat and mittens, some days you will want sunscreen!

Is there parking?

Yes, parking is free and on-site.

Is the field accessible?

The farm is mostly accessible. There are some wider paths that will accommodate wheelchairs, wagons, and strollers, but please keep in mind the paths are uneven.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, only service animals are allowed on the farm.
